About Obsidian Athletic ClubThe family
behind Obsidian
We're a privately owned, family-run group of premium gyms in British Columbia and Alberta.
From one club in North Van to three
Obsidian started in North Vancouver with a simple plan: great service, top-of-the-line equipment and more amenities than members expected from a gym.
That club grew to 20,000+ square feet with a boxing club, a pole and aerial studio and a full recovery suite. In June 2026 we opened West Edmonton, 34,000 square feet with more than 250 machines. Kelowna is next.
Each club runs on the same rules. Hire good people, buy the best equipment and act on what members tell us.
Meet Paige and Gavin
General manager and part owner of Obsidian West Edmonton.
Being born and raised in Edmonton, I've always wanted to bring something like this into the community. We're going to keep improving, whether that be equipment upgrades, listening to member feedback, new amenities. That's what this community deserves.

Grow with Obsidian
We're hiring in North Vancouver and Kelowna for sales, leadership, operations, member experience, personal training, and cleaning and maintenance. West Edmonton is fully staffed, and we keep resumes on file for future roles.
Send your resume and a short note on which club you want and what you would bring.
